Situated north of Wicker Park, Bucktown is a trendy neighborhood in bustling Logan Square. Formerly a rural settlement for 20th century Polish immigrants, the community soon evolved into a residential area attracting artists and musicians. Today, it’s home to over 13,000 residents.
Getting in and aroundBucktown benefits from having the Kennedy Expressway (I-94) run through the neighborhood, allowing locals to travel the city by car. Public transportation is also easily accessible, as the CTA Blue Line has a stop at Western Avenue. The 73 Armitage and 76 Diversey buses pass here, which connect to the CTA Red Line.
Living in BucktownAn elevated trail with city views. For those who wish to enjoy the outdoors without leaving behind their urban comforts, Bucktown is ideal. The 606/Bloomingdale Trail is an elevated 2.7-mile trail built over a former train line offering striking city views. There’s also Holstein Park, a modest local hangout with swimming pools, baseball fields, and play areas for children.
Arts and entertainment. Bucktown offers a host of entertainment options and a buzzing nightlife. Check out the Gallery Cabaret, a neighborhood watering hole offering live jazz music and open-mic performances. For an experience you won’t soon forget, the Trap Door Theater is an intimate live theater space showcasing offbeat, obscure productions. If you are looking to host an event, The Robey offers a range of private spaces from lounges, restaurants, and roof top space. Stop by Paradise Park for pizza, cocktails and a good time on their heated patio (21+ after 7PM).
